A time and a season for everything

There is a time and a season for everything on earth

Life is full of seasons, and if we do not recognize this truth we will become stuck in one season longer than necessary. There is nothing permanent in this world, all shall pass away. From birth to death, we go through seasons. Each day brings something new. The Bible tells us there is an appointed time for everything, and there is a time for every event under heaven. When we are on the right path, that is following God’s will for our lives, we will realize everything falls into place.

We do not have to force ourselves on people or circumstances. We should not compromise our values in order to attract or retain anything or anyone in our lives. If God meant it to be, it will come to pass.

Trouble sets in when we force our will on things or people; when we do things out of God’s order, when we do not ask God what He wills in our lives. We keep pushing using our human strength, and soon, we grow weary, we become frustrated. We ask, why are things not working out? We become unpleasant, frustrated, angry, envious, bitter people. That leads to a negative spiral. We become self-destructive and destroy the lives of those around us. We weigh others down. Our lives become like burdens, there seems to be a dark and heavy cloud over us. When we walk by the flesh, eventually we fall.

Most of us want things now. We want things to happen without delay. Yet, that is not how life is.

Ecclesiastes tells us there is a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace and a time to shun embracing; a time to search and a time to give up as lost; a time to keep and a time to throw away; a time to tear apart and a time to sew together; a time to be silent and a time to speak; a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace.

God wants us to recognize our current season. That enables us to avoid wasting time on what is past. Yes, we grieve what is gone for a while but we are not meant to stay there, in the past. If the past was good we praise God for that. Then we come back to the present. We seek God on what He wants us to do now.

We do not dwell on what happened in the past. Yes, we are to learn from the past. Our experiences are great teachers and if we are alert, we will gain great wisdom. We use what we have learned in the past to help us in the present. Good or bad we realize that that is now gone. Where we can make amends we make them. But after that, we let go and let God.

There is a time and a season for everything
Life is full of seasons

We realize we are here for a season, therefore, in everything we do, we do for God’s glory. We are to live a purpose-filled life, God-pleasing life. When we realize the truth that even our lives here on earth are seasonal, we can then be in a position to glorify God and do everything for His honor and glory.

As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, and its place acknowledges it no longer. Psalm 103:15-16.

We are to live each day and each moment as if it was our last, because our last on earth will certainly come to pass one day. We are not to be distracted. Yes, we are to enjoy life to the fullest, in a way that honors God. We are not to live just for ourselves, we live for God and love each other in every way possible. Love in both actions and words.

We take that extra step to help someone, we take the time to encourage someone, we let that someone know that they are loved. We do not live selfish, self-centered, self-pleasing, others-pleasing lives. We live to please God.

When we are away from God, we set ourselves up for the enemy to come into our lives. Things start happening and then we try to blame God. Yet, we never involved God, we made our own plans, we did things with our own strength. When we are in God’s path, we realize the enemy has no power at all. Nothing will happen that God has not allowed. Nothing can ever stop God’s good plan for our lives when we walk according to His will.

Since his days are determined, the number of his months is with You; and his limits You have set so that he cannot pass. Job 14:5.

Even before we were born, God predestined us for a great purpose. However, when we reject God, sadly we fall off His will for our lives; things start going downward for us.

We cannot do anything without God, the sooner we realize this truth the better for us. On the outside we may seem successful but if God is not in it, it all becomes vanity. Life without God is vanity. Our wealth, education, careers, having many followers, being favorites among people, becoming leaders; all is vanity without God.

Jesus is the vine, we are branches, and without God as the root and the center of it all, we can do nothing.

I Am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the Word that I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I Am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:1-5.

We go through seasons for a reason. If we do not bear fruit and if we reject God, we go away from the Source; we dry up. Only in Christ are we sustained. God sustains us. We flourish. Seasons are ways of being pruned so that eventually we mature and bear  much fruit.

We are to recognize seasons and learn from them; then use what we have learned for God’s glory. With God, it is a win-win; He causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him.

There is a season for everything in this earth. We are to live our lives knowing and accepting seasons as they come and go. God is with us through it all. With God, nothing we go through is meant to destroy us; we will come out victorious every time. For those in the kingdom of God, to live is Christ, to die is gain.

Blessings.
