We have been deceived. We think we can get away with anything especially when no one is watching. We lie to ourselves that we can say and do anything without consequences. We live on earth as if we ‘have arrived’. We do not stop to ask ourselves about matters eternal, that is, where we will end up after death.
Death has a finality, it is a finality of life on earth and an end of opportunity to repent and to serve God in this world. After death, destiny is sealed; the dead are in waiting for judgement day. We will be judged according to how we lived on earth. We cannot live a corrupt immoral life with no regard for God yet expect to end up in heaven. No magic happens after death.
Our life on earth is what determines where we will end up after death. There will be no surprises.
The Bible says that God cannot be mocked, whatever a man sows that he shall reap. Those who sow evil will reap earthly death and thereafter a second death in the lake of fire. Those who live for Christ on earth will never see the second death; they will be raised upon the second coming of Jesus to live with God eternally.
We are told to choose who we shall serve. God never forces Himself on us. He has told us the good that awaits those who love Him; we have the option to choose that or choose eternal torture. It is ours to choose. Woe unto those who choose the path that leads to destruction, they soon realize that the devil is not their friend; they will be condemned to die.
Blessed are those who choose Jesus Christ; there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ – they will be raised immortal, and there will be no more sorrow, and no more dying; they will rejoice in heaven forever.
Today, choose whom you shall serve, but choose wisely. Our life choices, words, motives, and actions, are what will be used on judgement day. There will be no arguments. No one can argue with the truth. It will be a done deal. When that time comes, there will be no going back. God is just; no one will perish if they lived their life for Jesus Christ, and those who do not love Jesus will not make it to heaven. It is that simple.
Many will say to Jesus on that day, didn’t we do this and this in Your name? They will be told, “Go away from Me sinners, I never knew you.” God cannot be bribed; we cannot cheat our way into heaven. We cannot corrupt our way into heaven. God is just, He can never be mocked. People will reap what they sow.
Out of love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, He paid the price we could never afford to pay. Now, we only have to choose life and walk on the narrow path. God loves us too much, He does not want any of us to perish. But when that day comes, He will have no choice. Time will have run out.
Today, choose life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Him.
