Love never fails

Love Never Fails

Share

When we talk about love, we are talking about God. God is love and love never fails. We cannot separate love from God, He is love and He is the author of love. That is why in this life we really never know what love is until we know who God is. Most times we talk of love in a casual way, we have come up with our own descriptions of love to fit our lives and our situations. We talk of love as if love is an emotion.

All of us want to be loved and feel loved. We go through life seeking love and usually seek love in all the wrong places. The world is full of wounded and hurt people, wounds sustained in the name of seeking love. We give ourselves to people who have no idea what love is, people who have mastered the art of manipulation and deception and saying and doing what the other person expects them to do. We think in our own deceived minds that just because such people are doing all the right things and saying all the right things then they must really love us.

We forget that the devil has a counterfeit of everything, the enemy is the master of making counterfeits and the father of all lies. We normally forget that any person who does not have a relationship with God does not really know what love is. We forget that true love never fails. Such people will be walking in deception even without knowing it and they will deceive you in the process. They will present you with something that looks and feels so close to love that you will fall into a pit with them.

This is the reason why so many people are hurt and wounded; they, first of all, do not know what love is, then they go looking for love from people who do not know what love is, and they end up in a cycle of deception.

In our deceived state, we end up getting into friendships and relationships with people who have no goodwill towards us at all, people who are looking to fulfill their self-centered interests at our expense and label that love. We live with people who do not love us, we make friendships with people who do not love us, we marry people who do not love us. Make God help us all. May we realize that true love never fails.

We open up our lives to the enemy- whether with our actions, our thoughts, our words, the people we interact with, and so much more. The enemy is a deceiver and a destroyer, his aim is to make us live in a state of blindness and believe lies as if they were the truth. The enemy only comes to steal, kill, and destroy; he poses as an angel of light and creeps into our lives, he transforms himself into an image that will easily deceive us.

The enemy bombards our lives with guilt, shame, condemnation, rejection, and regret, he lies to us that we are of no worth and no value – such things make us believe the lie that we do not deserve anything good in this life, that we do not deserve love; such lies make us settle for counterfeits of love.

We end up settling for people who lie to us, people who manipulate us and abuse us in every way possible, we settle for the first person who mentions the word love to us, we settle for selfish egotistical prideful people who are full of themselves, we settle for people who love money and will do anything to get wealth, power, fame, and live a prestigious life regardless of the cost to their souls or our souls, we settle for unfaithful people, we settle for people who have a perverted view of love, we settle for people who neither know nor love God, we settle for people who do not love us.

May we always remember that love never fails and that many people do not know how to love. Just because a person tells you that they love you does not mean that they actually love you! This is just like not everyone who says they love God actually loves God. We have to stop just listening to people’s words but also watch their actions, and pray and fast and ask God to reveal people’s hearts and intentions to us. God will reveal to us when we ask Him to and when we pray according to His will.

God loves us and He reveals things about other people to us, but we are usually too busy to hear God’s voice or we live in fear to the extent that we are willing to compromise rather than to lose the other person, yet, they may not be good for us. We make people and things our gods. We live in idolatry! We have to reach a point in our lives where God is really enough for us.

We have to stop living in fear and start walking by faith and trust in the Lord with everything we are, everything we have, and everything we want. We have to realize that no one in this world will satisfy us or fill the God-sized void that is in every one of us. Jesus Christ is really enough. God’s love never fails.

Most of us live in fear, we lie to ourselves that having someone is better than having no one. We forget that we are never alone, we have God who loves us and is with us every moment of every day of our lives. That someone whom we say is better than no one may ruin our lives eventually, they may turn abusive towards us especially when they realize that they can get away with anything with us, they may turn our lives into practice grounds for their evil minds.

We lie to ourselves that we have to tolerate people who are out to destroy us! We lie to ourselves that when we love them then they will love us back, we lie to ourselves that when we treat them well then they will also treat us well- we are really a deceived people until our spiritual eyes finally open and we start seeing things and people as they really are.

When we open doors into our lives for people who are not meant to be in our lives, we are really opening the door for the enemy into our lives, and the enemy starts to think that he has the legal rights to do as he pleases with us. We need to wake up and sober up. We have to realize that the god of this world is satan and satan is our enemy, we should never dialogue with the enemy.

The enemy only comes to gather details about our lives and find out areas that we are weak in and takes advantage of that for his gain and for our downfall.

We have to close every door and loophole in our lives that the enemy uses to gain entry. The Bible tells us to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us. A life lived in total submission to God is really the only life worth living, and the enemy is powerless against children of God who know who they are and whose they are. When we put on the whole armor of God, we are able to take our stand against the evil one.

Love never fails, it never gives up, love never loses faith, love is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love bears all, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love believes the best in all, and there is no limit to love’s hope, and it never fails.

Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up. Love knows how to be silent, and is full of hope, full of patient endurance. Love never fails, love lasts forever, love never ends. Everything else shall vanish away, but God remains.

God knows us completely, He fully knows us, He loves us. When we know God and are connected to God in an intimate way, we do not go out there looking for love from people, on the contrary, we start giving out love to others as an overflow of God’s love within us. When God, who is perfect, comes, then all that is imperfect is brought to an end.

When we know God, then we are able to recognize all the counterfeits in the world posing as love.

Perfect love drives out all fear. Only in God and through God do we really know and get to experience true love. Only a person fully submitted to the Lord is capable of loving us, and only when we are fully submitted to the Lord are we capable of loving others with the love of God, without putting conditions on ourselves or giving others conditions. Only in God is love perfected.

When we know God, then we know love. God loves us, we only have to receive His love for us, and in due time, God presents to us His best for our lives. God connects us with the person and with people who will love us with the love of God. When we seek God first, and trust in Him, and wait patiently for His timing, then everything aligns. We should make God’s will our will and surrender fully unto the Lord, and we know the truth that when we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us. May we learn to rest in God always.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13.
