In life it is important to follow God’s lead. One of the most amazing things about God is that He offers to lead us. He willingly offers to be the leader of our lives. He does not want us burdened with the cares and worries of this world. The best thing we can do is submit and surrender to God and let Him take over.
God knows best and He is the best leader there is.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Any kind of relationship requires trust, and likewise is the relationship with God. We know God is trustworthy, and because of that, we know we can trust Him. God knows all, and when we allow Him to lead us, we know we are covered and that we are headed in the right direction.
Life can be hard. It requires decisions to be made on a daily basis. We cannot do it without God. When we try to go our own way, we will learn very fast that this world is not our friend. The Bible tells us that we are in the world but not of the world, and that the god of this world is Satan. We need God, we need wisdom to go through this life, and we know that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. We need to live lives that are submitted to God, with reverential fear of God. We need to hate evil and love good, we need to not only study the Word of God but also do what the Word tells us.
We are to cling to God, He is our friend and He wants the best for us.
You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. Deuteronomy 13:4.
God is our Lord, He teaches us to profit, He leads us in the way we should go.
Failure to follow God’s lead opens doors for a lot of harm in our lives. When we go against God, we act in rebellion.
Going against God shows pride and a life not submitted to Him. When we reap the consequences of our rebellion, we will only have ourselves to blame. The Israelites disobeyed God many times on their way to the promised land, they were constantly murmuring and complaining, and because of that, many of them never set foot in Canaan.
None of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob; for they did not follow Me. Numbers 32:11.
God knows best and His leadership is the best. Everything He tells us is for our good and for the honor and glory of His name.
God sees what we do not see, He knows what we do not know, He knows the end from the beginning. He is sovereign. He does not force us to follow Him, He wants us to choose to follow. Those who follow Him come to know that He is indeed a good good Father. He is the good Shepherd. God loves us with everlasting love.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and as sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2.
