Jealousy

Jealousy – The Sin Stain Of Jealousy

Share

Jealousy is defined as, “feeling or showing an envious resentment of someone or their achievements, possessions, or perceived advantages.” Jealousy is very common in our society, which is proof of how fallen human nature is.

Jealousy makes people hate each other without a cause, it breaks friendships, it makes people attack each other and try to ruin one another, it makes people quarrel and slander one another.

Human nature is self-centered, and without God, human beings are incapable of anything good. There is so much envy and jealousy in this world. Initially, you may not even realize that a person is envious of you, because they will approach you in a friendly manner. However, with time, what is in their hearts comes out through their words, actions, and attitudes. Such people will start doing things and saying things to sabotage you and to try to block you from advancing forward.

The selfish human nature wants things for themselves. A person will be envious of you from a distance and start desiring to have a certain aspect of your life.

They will then befriend you and try to earn your trust, yet during all that time, they are being driven by selfishness. Such people will enter your life, and then slowly start trying to bring you down and take what you have for themselves. They will try to find out everything about you and then turn around and use that for their advantage and for your downfall.

They will use your life as a means to satisfy their desires; whether that desire is fulfilling their lust, or to avoid loneliness, or to get admiration and validation, or to gain a sense of security, or to boost up their esteem, or to prove something to themselves and their friends, or to fulfill a societal expectation, or to fit in, and so many other things. Your life will become a means to satisfy themselves, they really do not care about you. They will try to get everything they can from you and in the process wear you down. They will do everything to protect themselves, even if that means ruining your life in the process, in every way possible.

Surprisingly, there are people who will be jealous of you even when it seems like there is more going on in their lives than in your life.

There are people who are so dissatisfied with their lives that they will try to bring another person down out of hate and jealousy. There are people who will seem friendly to you and befriend you, some will even go to the extent of starting a relationship with you and even marry you, yet, in their hearts, they are jealous of you and your life. Such people try to yoke themselves with you so that they can get something from you, somehow your life seems exciting to them and envy takes root in their heart.

Do not be surprised if someone is with you but they treat you in a very demeaning way. You start wondering how comes such a person keeps on sticking to you yet in their mind they seem to have such a low opinion of you. The heart is desperately wicked and someone will go to the extent of convincing you that they love you yet it is hate operating in their heart. When such people finally gain entry into your life, you start experiencing hell on earth.

Watch out! Most people who smile at you most likely do not like you, the smile is like a bait.

Such people will be the loudest in criticizing you and demeaning you in words, attitudes, and actions, but the irony is, maybe they are extremely jealous of you and their criticism is stemming from a heart full of hate. They may be looking for a loophole in your life and the moment they get through, they strike. You might even have never interacted with them before, yet the enemy has planted a seed of hatred and strife in their hearts and is using them as his agents to attack your life.

Most people will attack you without a cause, it is the sinful nature in them that is in full action.

The Bible tells us that we should not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. There is a void in every one of us that can only be filled with and by God. A person without God’s Spirit in them will try to use so many methods to fill up that void. When a person is not submitted to the Lord, then they have opened up their life to the enemy, and the enemy will start using their life to fulfill his evil mission.

Be aware of who you allow to have access to your life lest you allow a person whose heart is full of hatred towards you and they eventually leave you in ruins.

Loving one another does not mean allowing everyone to enter your life as they please. We are to be wise because we live in a fallen world whose god is satan. Jesus informed us in advance so that we stay prepared.

Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16.

Watch out! Be sober! The enemy only comes to kill, steal, and destroy. But thank God, Jesus Christ came that we may have life, and have it abundantly.

Blessings.
