Childlike Faith

The things of God appear as foolishness to the world. Many people approach life in an intellectual kind of way, but that cannot work when it comes to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus blessed little children and said that the Kingdom of God belongs to such. We are to have childlike faith in God.

Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. Luke 18:17.

Your own wisdom cannot lead you into eternal life, true wisdom only comes from God.

People of the world cannot comprehend matters of faith. What the world teaches is contrary to the Word of God. People of the world like walking by sight, they like walking in their own strength, they think that they are in charge. People of the world think that they are self-sufficient, they are deceived into thinking that the only reason they are in this world is to be happy, to have fun, to accumulate money and property, to indulge in lust and satisfy their fleshly desires to the fullest.

Most of the time, when you bring up matters of faith to people of the world, they will laugh to your face, they might even go as far as calling you insane.

To people of the world, believing in a God they cannot see just does not make sense to them, telling them that God has said such and such a thing in His Word will have them rolling on the floor with laughter. Telling a person of the world that fornication or gossip is sin will make them look at you like you are a weird person.

The world has become so used to living in sin that it has become their way of life, and because of that, when someone comes up and tells them that their way of living is sinful before a holy God, they will label you insane, they will tell you that you do not know what you are talking about, they will start asking you which world you live in. It is sad that Satan has deceived people into thinking that he does not exist or that there is no hell.

Childlike faith involves taking the Word of God as it is and believing everything that God says in His Word.

It involves believing that God actually does exist even if we have not yet seen Him with our physical eyes. Childlike faith involves believing that God did actually send His only Son to be born human, who lived a sinless life, being both God and man, and that He died on the cross for our sins and on the third day He rose again in a glorified body. It involves believing in the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity who dwells in born again believers as their Helper. Childlike faith involves believing and doing what the Word of God says, no matter how it appears to go against the worldly ways.

Faith enables us to live a life pleasing to God. The Bible tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

A life of faith requires total surrender to God irrespective of how our actions and words may be considered as not making sense to people of the world. It involves letting go of what the world considers smart and allowing God to lead us every minute of every day. It involves having confidence in God, knowing with certainty that He will fulfill His every Word. We have a trustworthy and faithful God and we take Him at His Word.

God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and shall He not do it? or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Numbers 23:19.

God does not lie, you can take Him at His Word. Everything God has spoken in His Word is true.

The Word of God is power, put it into use and your life shall never be the same again. Everything we need in this life is contained in the Word of God. However, so many people in the world are so proud and arrogant that they cannot admit they need God. Such people want to prove themselves to those around them and show how much they know and how smart they are. They forget that God resists the proud and pride leads to destruction.

If you cannot admit that you need God then you are headed to destruction, if you cannot listen to the Holy Spirit tugging you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior because if you do your friends will laugh at you, then you are headed to destruction. If you think that you are too smart and that you have mastered life and how to manipulate your way into getting things of this world then you are headed to destruction.

Coming to God requires a person to be stripped of the pride of this life and come to a humble acceptance that God’s way is the only way, and that there is no other way to God the Father except through Jesus Christ His Son.

Being childlike does not mean that you are childish. It means you are wise and mature and yet you approach your heavenly Father as a child would approach their earthly father. It means that you trust and believe everything your heavenly Father tells you. It means doing everything your heavenly Father tells you to do in His Word, it means living as your Father tells you to live. It is a state where you are totally dependent on God and believe every Word He has spoken in the Bible. To the world, that may appear as foolishness, yet, it is what pleases God.

The Bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. If God says something is sin then it is sin, if He says that He will bless you then He will bless you, if He tells you to do something then do it; you can always trust God. Everything God says is true. You have to believe that God is!

We are like sheep among wolves, we are to be innocent, yet wise.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16.

Have childlike faith and believe everything that God says in His Word and act upon it. Trust in the Lord and do not rely on your own understanding. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4.
