The Bible tells us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Most people in our society today have become vile. Everywhere we turn, and especially on social media, we see and hear foul, nasty, repulsive, disgusting, hateful, mean, disgraceful, ugly, vulgar, dishonorable, wicked, perverted, evil words being spoken.
You do not have to wonder what is in people’s hearts, just listen to what they say and read what they write.
The manifestation of people’s hearts is out there in the open, most people do not try to hide it anymore, though there are still people who hide their true selves and wear sheep clothing yet inside they are wolves. However, eventually, by their fruits you shall know them. Irrespective of how long a person tries to hide and deceive others by putting on a perfect outer mask, eventually their fruits show who they really are.
We should not be quick to approve people based on the outer image they project, most people have mastered the manipulative art of showing and telling other people what those people want to see and hear. We should never forget that the enemy is very cunning and is a charmer, he puts on a near-perfect outer show. The enemy has been here for centuries and he is the master of all lies. Let us pray for discernment and test the spirits because there are many deceptive spirits out there.
The only Spirit of Truth is the Holy Spirit.
When we spend time in prayer, fasting, and studying God’s Word, we start having discernment and start being able to recognize what is the truth from what is a lie. We get to know that God’s Word is Truth and that God is not a man that He should lie. What God says is true and does come to pass. God’s Word is our roadmap in our journey on this earth. If we need to know anything we go to God’s Word and spend time with Him in prayer and fasting. The Holy Spirit reveals things to us that we need to know and He guides us in the way we should go.
When a person talks about God at one moment and then the next moment that same person spits vile poisonous words out of their mouth, then we have the answer about who that person really is.
Talking about God does not mean that a person knows God. There are people who will say that they love God but by their actions they deny Him. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and a tree is known by its fruits. Vile words are the fruits of the bad tree that has taken root in a person’s heart. A person cannot claim that they love God and yet out of their mouth comes out bad evil words.
A good tree bears good fruits and a bad tree bears bad fruits, it really is as simple as that.
May we never allow people to throw us into confusion – listen to people’s words, watch their actions, watch their attitudes and their interactions with other people and see if their lives align with God’s Word, and you will get all the answers that you need. When a person claims to be a follower of Christ yet their words, actions, and heart attitudes prove otherwise, then we do not have to keep asking questions, we already have the answer. A person speaks and does what their mind is full of. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess that they know God; but in their works deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and into every good work reprobate. Titus 1:15-16.
There are people who will try to confuse you, calling you evil yet they are the evil ones. Never succumb to the tricks of the evil one. When we spend time with God in prayer and studying and meditating on His Word, when we know that we are at right standing with Him, then we are able to stand with the truth and are not shaken by what people are saying or doing.
When we develop a personal relationship with God, the Holy Spirit helps us discern and we are able to see people for who they are and see circumstances for what they really are. Do not be deceived, there are many wolves in sheep clothing, get to know people by their fruits – are they producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit or is the fruit of their lives from the fleshly carnal nature?
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink, who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away justice from the righteous man! Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root will be as rottenness, and their blossom will ascend like dust; because they have rejected the Law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 5:20-24.
