Jesus Christ is alive; He is not just a character in the Bible. He has a personality, He is the Son of God. Most of the time we just mention the name in passing. We fail to recognize the power behind that name. The name of Jesus has power. It has power to save, power to heal, power to change circumstances. We know where Jesus is, and we know that is where we are headed. Jesus Christ went to prepare a place for us, so that where He is, there we may also be.
This life is just like a practice ground, it is where choices are made. It is here on earth that we get to choose where we will spend eternity. Yes, it is a choice. An active choice. There are only two destinations after this life, either heaven or hell. It is as simple as that. Yet, most times we live in denial. It is just like the way we know death is a reality yet we think it is something that only happens to others. We do not want to face reality. We do not want to face the truth.
The truth is, Jesus is God who was born man 2000 years ago. He lived on earth for 33 years. He walked on earth doing good and fulfilling the will of God the Father. He was born to die in order to establish the new covenant between man and God. He was at the peak of His life when He was crucified. At the cross, He bore all for us, He became sin for us. He died and then after three days He resurrected. His resurrection signifies victory over sin and death. At the cross, it was finished.
Yes, Jesus Christ is alive; He lives. It is a truth that many people deny. People want to intellectualize matters of faith. Yet, with faith, it is about believing that what we do not yet see actually is and will come to pass. Faith enables us to embrace the promises of God as Yes and Amen. God is who He says He is and He does what He says He will do. Everything in the Bible is true.
Jesus is the Light of the world and everyone who believes in Him will not remain in darkness. Most people walk in spiritual blindness, having eyes yet not seeing. It is the worst form of blindness. Spiritual blindness makes people walk in deception. It makes some people say there is nothing else after this life, it makes some people deny the existence of God. Satan is the ruler of this world and he is the father of all lies; his language is lies, woe to those who fall into his deception.
This is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. John 3:19.
Most people do not want to hear about Jesus because they want to do what they want to do and say what they want to say; they want to enjoy the pleasures of the world. Some deceive themselves that just before they die, they will accept Christ, but for now they want to continue in their ways. They forget no one knows the day they will depart from this earth, to some it happens in a split of a second, it does not give them time to prepare.
The message about Jesus is offensive to most people because it requires a complete change in one’s values. It means walking in the light, repenting, and turning away from sin. It involves submitting to God. We should always pray to God to help us number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
So Jesus said to them, ‘For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes. John 12:35.
Dark days are coming. Days are coming when people will search for the light and not see it. Everything good in this world comes from God. Heaven is the place of perfection where those who love God will enjoy everything in its perfection. Hell on the other hand, is a place of total separation from God; it is where those who reject God will end up.
While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light. These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them. John 12:36.
While we still have time, let us choose wisely.
Blessings.
