Just like the way society has become vile, it is also filled with people who speak empty words. Such words are crafted in a way that they portray a good image of the person speaking it, yet, the words are false. Such words are aimed at preserving a person’s image. The advancement in technology has made it easy for people to hide behind their computers and their phones and type anything that they want to.
Nowadays most people say what other people want to hear and not what other people need to hear. Many people say things that seem appealing and portray themselves externally in a way that will enable them to be liked by others. People sit back and type and say empty words that are faulty and that are very deceiving. They say all the right words.
We should be very careful not to be fooled by people’s words because most of them are just empty words.
The words and actions are carefully crafted in such a way that they are appealing to other people. People have become masters at portraying and projecting to other people a false image of who they are. Most people want to be liked and validated and they will say anything or do anything to gain human approval.
In the age of social media, the manifestation of who people really are is out there in the open. There is so much hypocrisy in the world. Empty words reveal just how much hypocrisy is in people’s hearts. Someone will say and do what they have to say and do in order to be liked by other people yet inside their hearts there is so much darkness.
People will lure you with their words and carefully crafted actions and lead you into a trap.
People will say something to you and even smile at you and then later go and start gossiping and slandering you. We live in a society where people have mastered the art of putting on perfect or near-perfect external masks. We live in a society where people call good bad, and call bad good. It is a perverted world.
Let no one deceive you with empty words.
For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not therefore partakers with them. Ephesians 5:5-7.
We should pray and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and for Him to reveal people’s hearts and motives to us so that we do not fall prey to the enemy and his agents.
It seems like most people say things they do not mean, and really do not mean what they say. The Bible tells us to let our yes mean yes and no mean no.
“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ be ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” Matthew 5:37.
Many people speak words coated with honey yet such words are meant to achieve what those people want, usually for selfish gains.
Wolves are clothed in sheep clothing as a way of disguise. Most say ‘nice’ words as a way of disguising themselves; they want to be liked, they want to be praised, they want people to say good things about them, they want to be seen as nice people, they want to be seen as helpful people, they want to be seen as trustworthy people – yet, it is all a lie. Such people know that they cannot show who they truly are because people would not accept wolves, and so they put on a show meant to deceive others and to achieve what they want.
Let us never forget that we shall give an account for every careless word we speak.
But I say unto you, that every idle word that men speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. Matthew 12:36.
The Bible tells us to aim at living a quiet life.
That you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12.
Let us not be partakers in empty talks. Let us say what we mean and mean what we say. Let whatever we do and say come from pure hearts and be done and said with pure motives.
We serve a God who is a promise-keeper, He does what He says He will do and because of that, we trust in Him. Every word that comes from the mouth of God is true.
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11.
